Blackjack Strategy
It is a matter of luck, not entirely though happiness remains an important factor when playing blackjack. But, because you have to make the decisions yourself, a good blackjack strategy has a direct impact on the odds.
Respond to the Bank
In addition to the blackjack strategies that you can use based on your own hand, you can also follow a strategy based on the bank’s hand. With these strategies you react to the hand of the bank. The following table indicates which actions you need to take with bank cards, in combination with your own cards of course.
There are many different blackjack systems that you can work with. Of course it is up to you what suits you best. Below you will find an overview of the different systems.
Paroli System
Here you are at 13 or higher.
With the Paroli blackjack system you always increase the bet if you win. In case of loss you lower the bet each time, until you are back at the original starting amount. You then keep this until you win again. With this system it is important that you determine your maximum bet in advance so that you do not go too far.
Martingale System
If you lose, you double the bet of the last hand.
The Martingale system is one of the best known blackjack systems. With this system you start with a bet. If you lose, you double the previous bet. If you lose again, you double the bet again. If you win, you start betting again. Thanks to this system, you ultimately always make a profit.
Parlay System
You can only go to 12 or higher.
This blackjack system can be seen as a pyramid. If you win, the new bet becomes your old bet, plus your winnings. There is no end point here. This way you can turn a small bet into a big profit. However, if you lose, you lose everything.
1 – 2 – 3 – 6 System
Your bet per round is determined by this number sequence: 1x, 3x, 2x and 6x.
With this system you put your money according to a certain pattern. First you set a certain amount. If you win, you bet 3 times the original amount. Then you put the original amount twice. Finally, you set 6x the original amount. According to this system you can win up to four times in a row. After these four times you start again with your bet.
Labouchere System
Your bet becomes the sum of the outer two numbers of a number sequence.
The Labouchere blackjack system works with a series of numbers that you determine yourself in advance. With this system you have to go through the following steps:
Before you start, you write a random number sequence, for example 1,3,7,2,3.
The first bet becomes the sum of the two outer numbers (1 + 3 = 4).
Are you losing the first bet? Then add the lost number to the number sequence (1,3,7,2,3,4). The next bet is again the sum of the outer numbers (1 + 4 = 5).
Do you win the second bet? Then you cross the outer numbers (3,7,2,3). The next bet is again the sum of the outer numbers (3 + 3 = 6).
The easiest way is to use a Blackjack strategy card.
S stands for STAND (no more playing cards take more)
H stands for HIT (Take extra playing card)
D stands for DOUBLE (Doubling)
P stands for SPLIT (split the playing cards)
Stand – Passes
You can choose not to continue playing. You should always do this if you have two cards of value 10 in your hand. We also recommend this strategy with card values of 17 and if you have an ace and an 8 in hand.
Hit
If you have a low value hand, it is advisable to request an extra card. Always do this if you only have 8 points. Even if the bank has high cards in hand, this strategy is very useful.
Double
You can choose to double the bet. You will receive an extra card, but you will then have to pass forced. You can do this best if you have ten or eleven points.
Splitting
If you get two identical numbers, you can split the cards. This means that your odds are doubled. The strategy map shows that fives and tens are never split and aces and eights always. It is best to split twos, threes, sevens and nines almost always.
